Freddie Gibbs, 2Chainz and Vince Staples Rock the Crowd Day 2 of Adult Swim Festival

The second annual festival carried on in its raw and comedic Adult Swim style with exclusive Rick and Morty season 4 screenings, live performances of The Eric Andre Show, and artist performances by 2 Chainz, Iron Reagan, Tierra Whack, Freddie Gibbs, Vince Staples and many more.
Freddie Gibbs
Prolific Gary, Indiana MC Freddie Gibbs along with his DJ and collaborator Madlib rocked the stage at Adult Swim Festival at Banc of California Stadium Saturday November 16th. Easily the afternoon’s top performance, the duo performed a grip of tracks from their latest project Bandana along with some acclaimed classics from the Piñata LP like “Thuggin” and “Harold’s”. The chemistry Gibbs and Madlib posses is unmatched and evident when they perform and it’s clear that Gibbs is a natural emcee when delivering his cocaine bars over those soulful beats.
2Chainz
College Park, GA Atlanta-native and Grammy award-winner 2Chainz had the crowd dialed in when he arrived on stage that night. Although 2Chainz may have been a last minute addition, after Young Thug dropped out, he brought South Atlanta style to Southern Cali. Performing hits like “I’m Different” and “Birthday Song” from his Based on a T.R.U. Story album along with verses from hits like “Big Bank”and “No Problem” his dynamic presence on stage commanded the audience’s attention. Along with his live band and T.R.U. artists, 2Chainz burst onto the scene and displayed precision in his musical prowess and a tireless work ethic. In the image of James Brown, “the hardest working man in show business”, he immediately flew out to Vegas’ Drais Nightclub for another performance as soon as his set wrapped up.
Vince Staples
Northside Long Beach’s own, Vince Staples was the last hip-hop artist of the night and did not disappoint. Coming out to a large cloud of haze, Staples’ hour-long set was complete with heavy bass, low lights and a few mosh pits. He performed some of his most popular hits from the latest album FM, like “Fun” and “Relay” along with “Big Fish” and “Norf, Norf” which had the crowd in a frenzy during his set. The young emcee held his own on stage and displayed a true representation of California confidence and style when delivering his lively verses.
